Going to fish Palestine in April and everyone I talk to tells me to go to the north, Kickapoo, never seen this lake and I'm not going to that area with all the pressure, stumps and time to get there, WIND. We are going out of lake Palestine Resort and I'm thinking of conserving time and if the wind blows real hard, like I know it WILL, fishing some where close. Spoken like any good fisherman, I don't want to know your honey holes, but what do I need to know about this area? Stumpy? Was thinking of fishing in Ledbetter and Saline Bay. Help is greatly appriciated, you can pm me as well. Thanks TTF

Stay in Ledbetter or flat if you don't know how to get up north By then the mid to south end should be good

You can catch fish all over mid-lake and south in April. Fish shallow and throw usual baits for spring bass.

If you have never seen the lake and are launching at Palestine resort. Do yourself and boat a favor and don't go north. You can catch fish in Highsaw, ledbetter, and other places around the mid to south end that time of year. And if you need the feeling of bouncing off of stumps like you would in kickapoo or flat, there are plenty of those in Highsaw and Ledbetter also. Good luck

If you want to go to Kickapoo there is a public ramp right on on Hwy 315.You don't have to run to it from mid lake.Just put in and start fishing,if you don't mind bumping a few stumps.

Don't think anyone mentioned to watch out for the stumps. Great lake, lots of tourneys won fishing south in April.

You can fish Chimney cove on the south side of the lake. I've caught some good fish in this cove. Also Treasure cove across from Lakeside Getaway can be very good.

is the lake high enough to launch at the free ramp in Kickapoo? Lake is less than 1/2 ft from being full. All ramps are useable.
