In y'alls opinion when you get to the 377 bridge, do you like to go towards the lake or further up the creek? I have been having luck in both sides but still want to know which way y'all like better

During the spawn they'll go west about halfway between 377 and 35.

How are the water levels right now? When I checked A month ago it was pretty low, just a trickle under the 377 bridge. I'm hoping they don't get too low with the spawn coming up in weeks.

There are 3 kinds of people in the world. Those who can count and those who can't.

It's low but it doesn't look so low that they won't be able to run up the creek. Even the low points look at least five inches deep. We definitely need a good rain though. Yesterday I went up there and I didn't catch any crappie but caught sandbass and a black bass. Have the crappie moved out already?

Do you have to use a bow or can you use guns there?

It's bow only...the corps of engineers gives out permits every year starting in June I believe. It used to be real easy to get a permit until word got out about the ole boy that arrowed a MONSTER buck a few years back. I think it scored 195 b&c!!!

Wasn't there a dam built about a year ago on that creek that kept the fish from making it from the lake as far up as the 377 bridge?

That is torn down now. Just has a bunch of big rocks where the dam used to be. They were doing some digging around there and dammed it up for only a little while. It's clear now. But with the water this low, the concrete wall is probably exposed I would think.

I was thinking about going up the creek from trophy club park in my kayak Monday. Waste of time? I need to get into some fish before I have to turn in my man card.

Last year was awesome for the run limited out every weekend. The dam had 3 2ft size pipes in it so not to impead the spawn. Hope this year will be just as good. Saturday headed to rowlett creek to do a little pre-tournament fishing. And Sunday I will be back on Denton creek, that is if the fish don't bite.
