I'll be headed to canyon lake in the morning to try to find some white bass. Will anyone else be out there or have an idea of the WB report?

Thanks!

I talked to about 5 boats last week.
Some were catching some and some were not.
If there catching them at the rapids, there keeping it secret.
The graph showed tons of fish, but getting a bite was not as easy.
I took a buddy out to the crappie hole I found earlier and fished Sat. morning. It was cold, nasty and drizzled.

We fished till noon and caught a few and had 4-5 throwbacks.
Another of the SLAB crappie too.

The boat problems was a non-issue and I caught a few so I'd say it was decient day.

I have the itch to try for some catfish now.

All caught on large minnow and #4 silver Shad Raps.

I had a good trip for canyon lake standards. I caught about 15 fish with 7 of those being keepers. I had 5 crappie and 2 whites. All fish were caught trolling the river channel with rapalas in 20 FOW. Much less boat traffic than I anticipated. Also seemed like the bite was early.

Haven't seen anything on it, but anything is possible. I didn't know Choke Canyon had talapia until I caught(snagged) one.

Is it true that "Snakeheads" feed on "Wake Boarders"? I can't imagine Canyon being good habitat for those fish.

I watched a guy pull a 30 pound striper out of his cooler on Saturday morning. He said he caught it on a jugline, along with a bunch of nice catfish. That was definitely the biggest striper I've seen out of Canyon. I was hoping it would have been posted onto TFF by now

That's what I was thinking! That's a big fish nonetheless. I know I saw a bunch of jugs at the mouth of the river on Saturday morning. Had to be 30-40+ in there. Could have possibly been whoever was running those

Hope he wasn't bragging about it too much, or he might have a visitor pretty soon! I'll bet those jugs soon disappear.

i just moved to san antonio area in the past few weeks from the port isabel. have fished nueces river for many many years for white bass but seems that river has pretty much dried up. where does one launch a boat and how far upriver do the white bass spawn on canyon lake?
