I would like to prepose a friendly casting competition. Enough people here in the DFW use surf rods now. We could have it at a local football field, maybe charge 10 bucks a head entry fee, donate half to take a kid fishing (or whomever), winner takes the rest. We could share ideas and techniques, and it wouldn't take up as much time as a fishoff. It could be done in a couple hours one afternoon.

Will there be a rod length limitation? Id be up for it, but all i have is 10' rods. Dont wanna go up against guys with 15' rods.

How about everyone use a 10' foot with a abu 6500c3 spooled with 80lb mono with 2 1/8 oz pinch weights only

I think doing a 7ft contest, and an unlimited would be a great idea. Lets find a place midcities, make sure we have permission, and do this. If anyone happens to own a large flat area, even better.
