I haven't been on this site since last year, when my computer got a virus from hades when I visted the forum(at the library now). My question, anyone had any problems like that this year? Thanks very much for any help.

Dang .... I can't go 1 day without my computer, much less a whole year because of a little virus.

I picked up two trojans from embedded videos in the Off Topic forum, but that was at least 6 months ago. My anti-virus software started going off as soon as I clicked to play the embedded content. I was able to shut down quickly and get it cleaned without too much hassle. Since then I believe they've done an upgrade on the server and I haven't seen any problems.

BTW - Macs aren't immune to viruses, there's just not as many floating around that target the Mac OS. Ubuntu is even better.

No problems with any of the Forums. I don't open videos from sources that I don't know.

...no problems since I registered in 2003. But I don't venture into OT and i don't open links. I also hide all sigs so i don't have to see all the stupid stuff people put in them.

No fully interconnected website these days is immune, we have had problems with ad feeds from google before so if they can't stop it who can??? A properly protected PC is one whose user knows what NOT to do on the web. Simple tips to keep your PC working safely are all over the web but the easiest and first thing to do is set up a limited use account for web surfing (no admin rights) and have active, fully updated AV and spyware protection... or just use something besides a M$ Windows PC wink

Remember: when it doubt.. wipe it out! That's the Windows way!

Quit going to the midget porn sites and you won't have these issues.
