I used to get tickled at the people that would rush over to a spot where they saw something break water. This meaning the people that were running to get next to the carp, or gar that were breaking water in the early light of dawn! This was a very frequent occurance on Lakes Belton, and Joe Poole. Ques what? It's not always blacks, or whites!!! What's your story?

Most of the time there will be several species of fish hammering those minnows. We always feel that we might get lucky and catch a Bass. Most of the time you will find some schoolies in there somewhere but they might not be the size you are looking for.
It is hard to resist especially if the water is really getting hammered.

We saw some buffalo carp rolling on the surface, fired my crank bait at em expecting to catch one, caught a 2 lbs bass. couple cast later another bass. Then we finally caught a huge carp which proceeded to break off the cb we were catching them on.

I don't chase them, but if something breaks water near me, I always have something tied on to fire at them. I've caught a lot of fish that way.

I can't pass up a bunch of birds that seem to be feeding like crazy.
