He never said where he caught them. It could be below the dam on OK side... in which there are no limits on hybrids.

Didn't know Red River has hybrids.
The pursuit (where are the fish), rigs design and setup, scouting, the awesome feeling of casting your rigs 100+ yards out, the total focus on the fish and the elements, the outdoors... the total exhaustion at the end of your fishing day,... the cooler full of fish to bring home... Yeah, I'm going to miss bank fishing!

I have a great picture of a 9# striper laying side by side with a 6-7# hybrid that show the humongous head of the striper in comparison to the hybrid's head. iluvfishin, if I send you the picture from my phone, can you post it for me? I'm very low-tech when it comes to fishin, don't have any i-phone nor any online photo sharing acct,...yet! LOL! like these Stripers. They actually look like hybrids but they're not. These were 15lbs each. He never said where he caught them. It could be below the dam on OK side... in which there are no limits on hybrids. Below the dam is 5 striper/hybrid no size limit.

I'm double checking my scale! LOL, J/K! The bigger one on your left is definitely a striper, the length and shape of the head + bigger stipes, no doubt! The one on your right would make me look twice, but yes, definitely a striper, too! Awesome catches! Congrates!

On TX side it's 5 striper/hybrid with 18" minimum. On OK side it's 5 striper no size limit. Hybrids and white/sand bass have no size or quantity limits.

Why can't yall just be happy that someone caught a damn fish? Really People?!?!?!?! This might be a public forum... He has been on here a while and OBVIOUSLY knows the rules of fishing in Texas.

LoL love the internet wardens. There should never be any mix up with hybrid or striper, not even when they are small.stripers always are more slender than hybrid-- Don't let the broken lines fool you, sometimes the lines will make it hard to decipher between a hybrid and sandbass..It's all about the body shape..
I don't really know what to type here.

Someone new like me is still learning from TTF. We are all happy for Iluvfishin and I wish I cold be that good. I am also glad someone tell me about bag limits. So I don't care the diff as long as they are 18" at least and 5 total..... Always, thank you for sharing...

It dont matter if you catch fish on the tx side or ok side. The bag limit is still 5. Yes in tx its 5 striper / hybrids minimum 18" not the river. Red River (below Denison dam) - Striped bass and/or striped bass hybrids have a combined daily bag limit of five (5); no size limit applies.

Sweet! Thx for clarification. Is the entire river under that special restriction or only certain parts of it?

Lol, I could tell by the distinct swirl in the lines what lake he caught them at. It's a genetic trait that causes most of the Striper to have the swirl pattern in that lake. I confirmed with him that he was in fact fishing that lake.

Good luck, and post pics! Man I've got to learn to fish artificial lures! I love live/cut baits fishing, it suites my lay back fishin style great, but all it takes is one trip to the lake and my freezer is already filled with blue catfish fillet. Went out last night and battled the catfish all night (I think they were same blue cats that my son and I threw back in the water over and over again, lol) Did managed to catch a hybrid (4-5lb'ish) and a blue catfish 15lb'ish (sorry, no CPR this one, it will be catfish steak, the other white meat when I can't catch sand bass! LOL!)
The pursuit (where are the fish), rigs design and setup, scouting, the awesome feeling of casting your rigs 100+ yards out, the total focus on the fish and the elements, the outdoors... the total exhaustion at the end of your fishing day,... the cooler full of fish to bring home...
