carp and buffalo make good bait, I have a hard time catching small buffs though and will not kill a nice one for bait...

p.s. i never heard of big cats eating buffs. i been all over the U.S. they use big shad, perch, everywhere I've seen. Catfish eat whatever fits down their throat. Buffalo works good for bait because it is an oily fish, like shad. Buffalo stays on the hook better and in some cases is oilier than shad. When they are bite sized mr. wiskers doesn't care if its shad or buffalo.

I've caught some really big buffalo and carp in the cast net but haven't ever kept them. Seems like when I do catch the smaller ones that shad are plentiful and they're way easier to deal with than a buff.
That part in Leviticus 11 says you shouldn't eat fish without scales and fins. It was referring to shellfish. It also says you shouldn't eat pork

After seeing that I would like to see what a five pound live one on a jug would produce. I have always heard buffs were better than carp for bait though

I am trying to figure out why this thread isn't in the catfishing section. Has nothing to do with carp fishing...

I am trying to figure out why this thread isn't in the catfishing section. Has nothing to do with carp fishing... was wondering if anyone could tell me where to catch some smaller buffalo and carp to use for cutbait to catch some big blue cats Op asked where can I catch smaller buff and carp. I do believe that has something to do with carp fishing...

+1 You won't even begin to put a dent in the population there. Lake Worth is also chock full of them.
