Some the guys at work are wanting to do a two day fishing trip on the Brazos. They want to do the section between the hwy 4 and 16 bridge. One of the guys didnt think this area of the river was well suited for fishing, but this guy doesnt fish much. I havent been on this part of the river so I dont know anything about it. I was gauging it off of the area below whitney most guys turn that 9 miles into a full day of fishing and since this section is 20 miles i figured i would be ideal. Any suggestions? Also this will be our first over night trip.

There are some giants down that stretch deep holes rocks bald eagles and decent smallmouth. A buddy o mine has a place four miles from the dam and we do reall good around there cut banks and jigs for largemouth. You never know may hookinto some striped as well.

It's low right now so you'll be doing some dragging. Two days with one night on that stretch won't allow a whole lot of time for leisurely fishing if you do the whole 20 mile trip. May want to put in at 4, fish towards the dam, then back downstream of the bridge, camp out, then back up to 4. The fishing can be spectacular. So is the scenery and the wildlife. A lot of folks on this forum fish that stretch so you should be getting a lot of info here presently.
