Texas rigged worm.
About a 6 inch dark purple body with lighter purple twister tail and you could buy them by the handful at the local Ace Hardware.

That fish changed my entire. I've caught it on bait chunks. The first one was Herring Rig, the second one Berkley Bloodworm. As regards freshwater it was Rapala.

It was either a road runner or beetle spin, but I can't remember which one!

Caught my first lure fish (bluegill) on a crickhopper, I think. It's the first one I remember anyway. Caught my first bass on purpose on a tequila Powerworm. Caught my first lure inshore fish (legal trout) on a Baby Lucky 13. It was one of those special Bill Dance colors. The kinda translucent ones.

In Line Spinner. Probably a Rooster Tail, but I cant remember for sure. I was a little boy fishing from the back of a farm pond.
Now I have a bass boat with tons of gear, equipment, and lures... and I still carry a few of the In Line Spinners. They still catch fish!
