Throw a tx rig on the main lake go north for bigger fish. Water temps last weekend were 82 on the hot end "we caught fish there" and 68 in the creek.

When you come out of the boat ramp head to the right and go way back up in the creeks to the Northwest. Throw Texas Rigged 6" gourd green lizzards and take a bunch with you.
The creeek I have fished the most is the one that is about 1.5 miles back NW on the left. There is a big curve to the left of the cove and a flat clearing to the right. As you get to the back of it, it looks like it ends, but there is a little offset back there and you can get in the creek and go way up the creek. Your fishing 1' to 4' of water.
Fish that one first, and don't be afraid to go way back up there. If that one don't hold fish, go all the way back up the main creek to the north west. Its the main feeder creek you can't miss it.
Later in the day go back down to the other end of the lake near the dam. Start throwing carolina rigs on every point you see out to 25'-0 deep. If you go back around to the discharge and pull up to near the bouy's on the right - there is a hump out there that is an awesome carolina riggin spot. Bill Wilcox was there recently with Honey Hole and was catching them. Again save that end of the lake for later in the day when the sun is up high. Go to the creeks early you won't be disappointed.
Just to the left of the damn there is set of power lines that go across a cove, there is an old damn right there. Throw you a carolina rig on the left side of the cove across that old dam. I use to put on a 1 oz lead weight carolina rig with a watermelon lake fork french fry and drift across that damn and wear them out down to 45' deep. Drift parralell to the dam on the lake side.
And then there is one more favortie creek, when you leave the boat ramp it is the first cove to the right or Northwest. We use to call it gourd green cove for a reason. Flip you a T-Rig gourd green lizzard around every stump & twig all the way up to the very back of that creek. Hit this creek on your way back later in the day. They hold there all day.
Don't waste your time with a spinner bait or a crank bait.

Looking forward to fishing the APT this year alot of good guys fishing this trail and Squaw is a great place to kick it off. I am sure there will be some really good sacks brought in sat even though that lake has been pounded hard we should still see some big sacks.
