Never posted on here before, but fish pretty regularly at lavon, Hubbard, and my favorite RC. Just got off work and was scouting from Miller to the Bike Park to the HH and then gun range. I almost caused an accident as I was driving over the firewheel pkwy bridge as I saw 2 men with stringers FULL of fish slung over their back. I was literally stopped in the right lane on the main road overlooking the creek, and there were fish BOILING at the surface. I don't think it was a feeding frenzy, as I don't believe the water temps have warmed up enough for the shad to move in. I think it was the males fertilizing the eggs at the surface. I may be wrong about that, but I'm definitely not wrong about all the freakin fish at the surface. Didn't think the last rain brought them that far up yet, and then to be doing that when its 45 degrees outside.

That sounds good, are those sandies swiming up in shallow current to cause the top water boiling? Or should be a school of shads?

I did not have to go into work today till 11am..I had my wife drop me off at the GR bridge early before the GR opened. I walked the very muddy creek to check it out to bridge to hh..water is muddy with current..all holes are filled up more with sand,mud,rock(debris)..found a few new deep holes close to where all our holes use to be..some are deeper...some are way shallow.Wife picked me up a FW bridge.. Hint..find the shad...you will find the fish HAVE A GOOD ROPE THAT WILL SUPPORT YOUR BODY WEIGHT...THAT WILL REACH THE CREEK FROM TOP TO BOTTOM...GOOD CLEATS THAT FIT..

I can not see the creek much less the water from firewheel bridge, and Sure not from the center lane of road way...Just saying.. Im old...Im not that old .. Maybe the fellow was on another bridge and thought it was firewheel bridge.. I was on RC this morning..did not see any fish on the surface except a few carp/gar or whatever they were..Did catch some sandbass on minnows in a couple spots..nice fish 13" again..males leaking white stuff..no big females yet.. caught 16 total..threw them back..I was not that mad at them... ...yet!.Had to get ready to go to work. Did find some really good spots..lost more minnows than I caught fish..had fun doing that..!

Im willing to bet the fish spashing around were 6 inch to 12 inch channel cats. They love the fast currents and RC is loaded with them and I see them splaqshing around all the time as the water rises. A ton of them show up late April into May after floods coming up the creeks to spawn right after the sandies. All the deep pockets will have them. IMO

Lol, okay, since I'm a "troll", let me clarify. First, yes, you can see the water from the RIGHT LANE of the bridge which is what I said, not the middle lane. Secondly, they were not walking along the creek with fish on the stringer which was slung over their backs, it was walking to their cars and were in the field right next to it. Last but not least, AS I SAID EARLIER, I was STOPPED in the right lane right over the creek, so if you "can't see the water" from there, you probably shouldn't be out and about at all for public safety reasons.
"Troll"??? A little judgemental for not knowing who I am. On the contrary, you getting your jingles off from saying dumb [censored] to someone who just posted the first post?
And I'm the troll...
