Really enoy the TFO tods, and as mentioned above they are designed by G Loomis, and the price point is not bad at all.

For bass fishing I've switched over to TFO. For the money they are hard to compete with. There are other brands that are more sensitive but for the price tag, I haven't found anything close to the sensitivity they offer.
Now on that note I am getting Walker Nelson to make me a custom C-rig rod. I can't wait to see what it will do.;)

Right now I use Shimano but I hope to get a couple of the TFO Tactical Rods for my birthday.

I'm pretty loyal to Falcon... primarily Originals, but got a Bucoo last year and really like it.
Recently got a TFO and Abu Spinner. I like both, but the TFO seems to have a lot more sensitivity and accuracy. Will buy more TFOs.
For cats, I have a ProAngler and an Ugly Stick. I like them both... just different approaches to the same thing.
When BPS has the Spring Trade-In Days, I plan to get a CarbonLite for bass fishing. I've read too many good things not to give one a try.

I am going to go to Southwest reel on my lunch break and look at the TFO's. I like their warranty and the fact that they are local. Sounds like everyone likes them also

Not sure I like that ALL of their rods are FAST action... I am starting to use nothing but braid and need rods that give a little to counter act the no stretch braid..

whatever is cheap. I dont care about brand names when it comes to fishing poles. I dont like to have to worry about an expensive rod breaking or sinking to the bottom. I do prefer a higher quality reel though as I think the reel makes a bigger difference than the rod. But when I say a higher quality reel Im talking about a lower level ABU Garcia or similar which is still pretty cheap.

I like the Abu Garcia Vendetta. It's SUPER sensitive and lightweight, but if I had the money I'd definatly get a Falcon BuCoo.

I'm going TFO all the way. I am very hard on my rods. I've had a TFO fly rod for a while and like it a lot so I got a medium and medium heavy Signature Series casting rods a few weeks ago and put them to the test. Very happy with the way they feel and they are tough. Picked up the Tatical Series 7' medium action crank bait rod yesterday and will be testing it out today.

Well I should say I'm an LMB guy, so the unbreakable and cheap fiberglass ugly stik type rods don't work for me. They're the only way to go for live/dead bait stuff though, and i have some that ive used at the coast that are like over a decade old. As for bass stuff, I have 3 Kistlers I got about 3 years ago that I have absolutely abused like stepchildren and they just keep on going... They were all at a 40-60 % discount from the specials Kistler runs from time to time.. They're all about as light and sensitive as anything else in their price range but again the most impressive thing about them is their rock solid construction... I've done everything to these rods short of stepping on them and slamming a door on them and they just won't quit. Can't tell you how many other rods have fallen victim to my abuse during that time span... Kistler doesn't have the lifetime warranty type deal you see with some of the other higher end rods (unless you buy one of the 400+ dollar model Z Bones) but you know what? I've never had to find out about customer service because, well, the product just hasn't broken! Something to be said for that, especially considering the fact that as a kayak fisherman, I'm really hard on my stuff even when I try not to be...
It makes a lot of sense to go with the higher end warranty rods like loomis and dobyns too. No argument there. But sometimes those super fast tips and "feel-the-turtle-farting-from-the-other-side-of-the-cove" blanks just can't hold up to the rigors of kayak fishing IMO... You end up talking to the warranty people an awful lot...
I also have a cabelas XML rod I use as my all purpose rod. Bought it in the bargain cave for 59 bucks. I've broken it twice and popped an insert once. Each time I've taken it back with my fingers crossed hoping they'd exchange it... They have, every time, no questions asked. Hard to beat that. And those XML rods are pretty darn sensitive and light too... BPS has done the same with the carbonlites I've bought...
Lots of good options out there... I really like the feel of the TFO tactical rods I've held too. But the great track record I've had with the Kistler rods puts them at the top of my list. My .02...

When I started kayak fishing I upped my game and went to Bass Pro and decided I would get whichever rod felt the best in my hands without looking at cost or brand. Ended up with a St.Croix Avid. That led to another St.Croix, a Tournament Legend three years ago. Found a G Loomis Greenwater (spinning) years ago (freebie) while kayaking, impressed again and bought one, a ProGreen spinning rod last year. Got a Castaway as a gift, don't like the looks but damn if that rod isn't a winner. Found an Abu Garci Tournament Graphite while kayaking, caught more fish on that little rod than I can tell you about, another great rod. Just too many good rods out there now and I'm afraid to try them out in fear of wanting to buy one. I've got a Kistler that I really like as well. Just to many good choices these days.

I love my Dobyns. I have a Savvy series for one of my worm rods and a champion series for the other. I have a glass champion for topwater and cranks. I also have a St Croix Mojo glass for cranks and topwaters. I love them all. The worm rods are really sensitive and i can feel everything.

Falcon Originals and BuCoo's. ANd for cheaper rods I have had really good luck with the $30 tournament choice's from Academy. Also have an AllStar micro crankbait rod that has been rock solid as well. American Rodsmith also makes some good ones if you can find them.
