Quick question: I currently have the 597 hdci and have to use a transducer ext cable. I'm upgrading to the 898c HD, can I use the same transducer ext cable I'm using now?

hang in there okie, one day it will all make sense. like a light bulb came on.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Question for you HB experts. I have the latest 998si HD, and I would like to move the window that shows the speed, temp, date, etc. from the left side of the screen to the bottom of the screen when I'm in full screen side imaging. A lot of the pics on this thread are in this format. Thanks.

You're looking at a 1198. The 998 only has them on the side.

Thanks Diel. That sucks. Maybe they'll change that with an update soon. I'd like for it to completely disappear, so you can use more of the screen.

Thanks Wayne. That pic is exactly what I want my full screen SI to look like. I thought I tried that already, but maybe I did something wrong.

It's called Side Imaging Readouts and you turn them to OFF to get this image.

I have an 1198 and am having problems with my three preset buttons. I have them setup with the three views that I use the most and I switch back and forth between them several times a trip. Usually once a trip when I am hitting one of the preset buttons the unit will say powering off and shut down. It is a very intermitant problem and may only happen once every 100 times I switch views. Also my temperature will disappear and I have to reset defaults to get it back, which is a pain because then I have to redo all my settings. I have sent the unit back to Hummingbird and they said they could not recreate the problem and sent it back to me. Anyone have any thoughts? well, at least now i kno i'm not the only one with this problems. I didnt have any problem with temp reading or having to reset it to default. Mine would shut of when hit preset buttons and at times it would occasionally shuts off by itself. I have my unit connect directly to the battery. If i ever finds out without sending the unit in, I would let u kno.

I have a very new, 2012 998c SI running 6.49 and have the same problem, it always seems like when I am switching screens it will shut off like I had held the power button. It doesn't just go blank, it says shutting down. I can't say it is always when I use the preset buttons vs view/exit, but I would say 100% it happens when switching screens and I use the preset alot. I don't want to give up the unit and be without it so I have just lived with it... SHOULD WE CALL HUMMINGBIRD ? will they try and fix the software ? Has anyone upgraded to 6.6 and still had this problem ?

Now if I could only afford the one I want. Be very careful buying below MRP as your warranty can and will be disqualified.I will rephrase my statement and simply say do your homework before purchasing from anyone selling below MRP Just sayin....
