I need to replace the skeg on my Triton from this past weekend. Any suggestions/places to take it (besides B&B). Thanks

If everyone focused on the important things in life, then there would be a shortage of fishing poles.

Classic Fiberglass in Denton can get you headed in right direction. I can't recall if they do it or sub it out but mine was done to look brand new.

Trace the outline of your motors skeg off of a new outboard. Have a machine shop/welder cut a piece of aluminun to replace the missing portion of the same or slightly thicker aluminum. Have them weld/join the replacement piece. Then grind/file the welds and repaint.

Skegs that have been damaged too close to interior cavities should probably just have the lower unit replaced. You might otherwise overheat interior bearings, fluids, etc. That may be a tough call. An experienced machine shop can help you decide. I imagine if it is a real concern that the lower unit could be drained, disassembled and then be repaired, reassembled and new lubricant installed. New housings are pretty expensive. But then so are charges by a good machine shop.
