C-frog, not sure McKinney town lake is yak friendly. May be, just not sure. I always bank it. If u do go, hit the east side.

This is news to me and I live in Prosper. Anyone want to go there this weekend? From their website...

"Town Lake Park
Located East of Prosper at end of Wood View Road. Town Lake Park offers a 27-acre stocked lake, all-weather hike and bike trails, and picnic areas. Canoe or kayak the open waters or winding creeks of one of the first city parks in Prosper."

Yes it is.

I went up there last year and it looked like a nice little pond. The vegetation however was really thick and you HAVE bring a kayak or small boat, dont think about bank fishing!!!

Did anyone check that out in Prosper this weekend? If it's nice I'd be down to check it out sometime. I'm not too far from Prosper.

Aggie, a friend and I bank fished it last night right at dusk on a whim. Lake is a bit high due to recent rain, so a vegetation line along much of the lake and a bit murky. Only fished about 20 mins with lures - I had no hits but friend hooked a nice one and with light tackle ran him under a log and unable to get it landed. I have yak'ed it in the past and done well on LMB and bream - light spinning tackle and/or fly rod - you only have to do a short carry/drag from the parking lot. I've never had any issues with a yak on it and have seen others with bass busters and float tubes.

Have fished Town Lake Mckinney with my pontoon boat no issues. Some decent fish but man they get quite a bit of pressure. Probably not a lure that hasn't been thrown at them. Had some luck on topwater last fall but have not been back there since.
