What size hook is everybody using for blues and channels.

It varies.. i carry from 3/0 to 9/0.........and change em out according to the bait size they are biting on.... caught some huge fish on 3/0 hooks!

Thanks but after fishing bass for years those hooks are huge LOL Guess I have to buy hooks too. I think I will start off with 5/0

For starting out get you some team catfish double action 5/0. Cant go wrong with them!! I had been using a varity of hook styles and sizes but now use these on 80% of my rods. Will handle most size baits and have caught fish on them from 1-48 lbs. Get them here!

I use 5/0 & 9/0 circle hooks. mine and my brothers 54lb blues were caught on 5/0. I also had a 37lb blue this year break a 5/0 hook once I got it in. it looked like somebody clipped it with wire cutters it was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen.

No they were eagle claw razor sharp. that was just a freak thing though I think cause that's the only bad thing I have to say about them and I still got my fish. So no worries just changed it out.

I saw the same thing happen this year with a different brand hook. Not going to post what brand it was because I belive still belive they are great hooks and dont wana bash the brand. Just a freak think. I can tell you it wasnt a team catfish hook.

Can only speak for the hooks I use for blue and flathead fishing but I like gamakatsu,pro angler , owner & catmaxx circles 8/0 and bigger. Pro Angler now has the improved chemically sharpened circle hooks up to 9/0
that became available last Summer. Tough hooks for sure! Also been liking the catmaxx 9/0 hooks from BassPro lately. Both hooks been catching fish well right along with the gamakatsus. Wish the larger hooks from Owner were cheaper but still use the 5/0 size when I think the fish are biting timidly.
