That sounds awesome. Would doing the bottom one weighted and the top one weightless work, you think? Or perhaps just heavier on bottom and lighter on top? Something to get them to separate but still allow you to get it down to some depth?

I'll have to play around with it, but this looks killer for the shad spawn on Texoma. I'll need stronger line if I'm going to double-hook striper. cheers

When I throw this rig I make sure they are exactly the same. When bait is moving naturally in a pack it stays fairly close together (safest way to go) so having a separation is unnatural in my opinion. Play with it and who knows but I throw mine equally weighted. I also throw mine on a tri-swivel rather than two separate ones but I'm a renegade like that.

To reiterate what Chris said, I think the rig works best when both baits are equally weighted and I think weightless hooked weedless works best because it falls slower and moves erratically and fast when you twitch it.

Sounds like a tangled nightmare to me. Did it tangle much?

It really didn't tangle much at all, when you cast and it hits the water it seemed to separate every time.

I didn't watch it before, but they look AWESOME in the water in that video. Very realistic.

And I'm sure rigging them weedless would help with tangles, too.

I never had a problem with snags or tangles, but it is a lot of fun to bounce around in the water
