We put in at Platter Flats yesterday, then went straight across to the Western shore, in the river channel. We started marking fish immediately, and after a few fluke color changes they started biting. Between the two of us, we caught 29 total, and several overs around 8lbs. I'm not seeing the really big ones like we have been seeing. All fish caught and released for another day. Deadsticking is still going strong. I'm going to be sad when the Spring warm up comes, and I never thought that I would ever say that!

There were gulls but they were just sitting on the water at the mouth of the cove, none working. Since it was a West wind, we would run up way close to the shore and drift back into the deeper water. Now that you mention it, you're right. All of our bigger fish came close to the shore, as we drifted into the 70ft of the river channel we caught all box fish.

I was out Sunday afternoon crappie fishing up in Little Mineral. As I started back to the ramp, I saw a bunch of gulls working. Grabbed my striper rod and had a little party for about 30-40 minutes. Fun stuff. I was over two big schools in there. I lost track of the first one after a little bit and headed back to the ramp at LM, then another flock of birds started diving right between Grandpappies and the LM ramp. Didn't think i was ever gonna get that boat loaded!
About half overs, up to 28". No crappie though, I suck at that..
