What kind of trailer? If on a Ranger, there is a silver knob just behind the tongue you can turn to reset. If it's on a Skeeter, are your plugs from truck to trailer identical? 5 or 6 wire to same?
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

Check the wire connection on the trailer. You will have to remove the electrical tape or wire loom. I believe its the blue wire. it is connected with a butt connector, and if you use the break away tongue it can pull the wire loose.

it is a 07 ranger did not see a silver knob to reset and checked the wire and it is hot to the solenoid. Do the solenoids go bad and is there a way to test it

yes bassplay the solenoids do go bad,but i would make sure the trailer is getting a good ground first, the blue wire is the power wire to the solenoid the ground wire is the white wire,if it has it hooked up,otherwise the ground comes through the trailer hitch tongue.Check your ground wire first......

I have a 02 ranger trailer, and when I thought mine was going bad, I had someone put the truck in reverse and I could hear the solenoid click, It turned out I had a bad ground and it wouldnt let me back up.. try using the bypass knob on the trailer to see if that helps. its a knob that you can turn and it keeps the surge from working
