for channel cats, 3/4 would be plenty. when fishing for blue cats, i generally use 3oz or 4oz. but you will need a rod that can handle that sinker size.

Im trying to get a list of stuff I need to do this right. I'm going to get the PA 10' rods so im hoping they will handle 3 to 4 oz weights.

3-4 oz on PA - heavier rods like Okuma Longitude 5-6 oz lighter rods 2 oz - too much lead casting hard is bad on the rod

It depends on how far you want to be able to cast. The Pro Agler rods will handle 3-4 oz just fine.

We use 2oz with 6-7 foot rods and that gets way out there me and my brother are only like 10 and 11 and we can cast about 70 yards plus.

On the 10ft PA's we use 5oz on the spinning and 3 or 4 oz on the casting rods and they'll sling it for sure.
