Looking hard at the Gator Trax Big Water edition boats for bass fishing. Anyone own one? Any opinions or suggestions on these boats?

I have one..it is not the big water edition. It is great for fishing. It does not get hung on the stumps. I have a 70hp 4 stroke Yamaha...great engine. I also have two bass boats. I fish out of the gator trax 90% of the time..

Man that boat is sweet. What are the dimensions of your boat? How well does it handle open, choppy water? Maybe I don't need the Big Water editions. Thanks for sharing.

I have seen some guys running GT's on the Sabine. Sweet ride.

The boat is a 1854 with the huntdeck, hydraulic steering and hydraulic jack plate. It is not great in real rough water. The boat drives great. Mine has the gas tank, two trolling motor batteries and a two bank charger under the fron deck. The front end does not lift when taking off. These boats are like tanks. They make one with the "HYBRID" add on the would help in the rough water. They started the hybrid edition about 2 weeks after I had this one built. The Hydo turf is unreal. It does not get hot in the summer. If you get it dirty, all you have to do is spray if off and it looks like new.

Thanks again for the information. Did you go through Gator Trax when you bought yours or an authorized dealer?

I went direct to Gator Trax. I called them and the owner (Kent Saxon) helped me design the boat. When it was ready they delivered it to my driveway at lake Fork.

I'm sold on Gator Trax. Your feedback was very helpful and much appreciated.
