From a Dallas blog: STATE PARKS GET SHAFT, AGAIN Austin lawmakers are once again hammering one of the state's most citizen-relevant agencies, Texas Parks & Wildlife, over funding. The Star-Telegram reports that politicking masquerading as budgeting is denying the agency access to a badly needed $46 million at a time when the state's parks are hitting the early stages of advanced neglect. Hey, Gov. Perry and anyone else listening: These parks are Texas heritage. Free up the money and stop hiding behind bean-counter excuses. Do you really have to be told? Vote the bums out........... There is a lot wrong with Texas right now due to our so called leaders...... Give the new guts a chance, you never know.... How do we know that the schools in Texas got 8 "BILLION DOLLARS" like they are advertising for you to play the lottery....

Bell also accused the Republican governor and the Legislature of playing a "shell game" by not appropriating the unused parks and wildlife funds.
"It's our money and not using it for the stated purpose is fraud," Bell said. "Sportsmen are some of the best conservationists that Texas has, and they gladly pay that money because they think it goes to fund game wardens and hunting and fishing areas."
Wow this from a Democrate...........makes me wonder!!!

the legislature is getting a lot of pressure in the newspapers across the state concerning parks funding
now is a good time to pile it on them with your letters and emails
