Appreciate all the CastAway love!

If you're looking to replace your current rods, shoot me a PM, email or just call the shop (936-582-1677) and I'll get you squared away.

Like Ken said, our premier Skeleton line retails for only $159.99 and is made right here in Montgomery, TX. Our Go2 rods are only $99.99 and built on the same lightweight, multi-modulus blank as the Skeletons. Go2's are also built in Montgomery.

As you can tell, our Pro Staff is pretty vocal about our rods and give us far more praise than we probably deserve. CastAway is a small company and my partner and I have owned it for barely a year. I wish I could do so much more for our pro staff but we are pretty limited right now. This has to be a testament to the quality and performance of CastAway's rods. These guys turn out at every event we attend and work their tails off to help us get this company re-launched. You can't imagine how proud this makes me!

For what it's worth, all four of our Elite Series anglers are fishing in the Classic this month. Talk about pride!!

Marty Robinson and Todd Faircloth have been using CastAway since the beginning of their careers. I can assure you, that's not from the money we're paying them!

Bill Lowen and Russ Lane are both using our stuff this year as well. Bill has been using custom rods throughout his career and came to us after seeing (and feeling!) our rods at ICAST. Russ started his career with CastAway and left when another rod company was offering these guys mega money. He's back home now and both of us could not be happier!

Sorry for being so long-winded. If you couldn't tell, I'm extremely proud of this company and truly believe that we have something for everyone. I don't think anyone makes a bad rod these days and I'm friends with many of the associates and owners of other companies. That being said, we would love to have the opportunity to earn your business! If you're in the area, stop by the shop and we would be proud to show you around. Otherwise, give us a call and we'll do everything in our power to make you another satisfied CastAway customer!

Falcon or St. Croix.

"..The pleasantist angling is to see the fish
Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

I've owned both and would choose Falcon. It's not even close.

I like Castaway. Their heavy action is a heavy. falcons heavy action is like a medium heavy in everybody else's brand. Both are good rods. I like the castaway 7'3" grassmaster braid rod.

St Croix is my favorite though. Castaway is in Texas and American Rodsmiths too. Both are very good.

I have been fishing competitively since 1981 and have used several brands of rods (including Falcon) during that time frame. In the late 90's and up until 2008 I was using primarily All-Star rods and they worked well for me until I started noticing Houston, Tx had been replaced by China on the rod. Sorry, but I want a rod built here in the good ol' U.S.A.. I live in Montgomery, Tx and actually have known a couple of the CastAway employees for a few years before owning my first CastAway rod. I first bought a couple of the CastAway rods to try and was very impressed that I bought 2 more and started getting rid of my All-Stars (even the good Houston editions). After using the rods for a season I applied to join the CastAway Pro Staff because I felt that I would not have a problem in endorsing the product and being that I was able to visit the Montgomery, Tx facility I became familiar with the staff and the manufacturing process and I was impressed in the HANDS ON ATTENTION that goes into each and every rod. I now have close to 20 CastAway rods and about to add some of the newer models. When I am at a tournament I let the rods sell themselves by allowing fellow anglers use one of my rods. When a rod sells itself then you now it is a good rod. In my opinion CastAway Rods is a better rod for the dollar than Falcon and being that CastAway is a smaller company (here in Good Ol' Texas) the customer service is more personal than with a large company.
Give Adam a call. He will fix you up.

I have Flacon Bucoo and Cara and like both of them. Adam makes the CastAway rods sound mighty good. Have one spinning model and I like it. Guess I'll have to try a baitcasting model! Never tried a Loomis either and I'm sure they're really good but they are very proud of their rods for sure.

++++1 I have switched over to TFO and absolutely love them! Gary Loomis designed these rods and the high end Tactical Series @ $150 is unbeatable!

Correct me if I'm wrong. Falcon lowrider are great rods but they are a dieing breed. I travel all over this state and I drop into academy sports every now and then. It's hard to find a lowrider rods so it may end up in a strung out deal if you do have problems with one. Reason I say this is it happened to me with the Johnny Morris rod my wife bought me. Handle broke I didn't have my receipt but I know it was over year old but less than year and a half. Long story but here's there good part. My wife paid 120.00 when I went to rod area they were reduced to 60.00. The guy in the rod n reel dept. had an idea to get the 120.00 my wife paid but manager shot it down. It's crazy how much they markup the price. So now I buy my stuff when it's on sale.
