For what it's worth, when fishing a dropshot, I use a jig/trailer tied to the end of the line in place of the standard weight. Might as well have something that'll catch fish...just my opinion.

It will work on a C-rig also.

Caught lots of big bass on the C-rig version. I haven't tried at jig on the Drop shot yet. There is no reason that it wouldn't work. If they will bite 5 minnows swimming along with heavy wires sticking out all over them; they with certainly bite this.

On the C-rig, I use a jig that has a football shaped leadhead with a small hole drilled through from nose to tail for the main line to pass through. Can't remember who makes them but it works like a charm.

I like to use a shakey head as the weight on my dropshot. I can use 2 different colors of the same worm and see what their preference is.

I was wondering if you knew the company that makes those football jigs with a hole in the head for carolina rigging. i think that would work great. Never saw that before

Thanks

Using a jig as a Carolina rig weight is called a "Missouri-Rig". BPS sold these back in early 2000. These jig heads have a cable running out the back with a swivel integrated into it so you can tie on your trailing line to your soft plastic. I've used them before and have one or two left. There was another choice on the shelf which was a bullet weight with skirt attachment on the lead. It came with a hook on a split ring to tie to and your C-rig line came off the split ring to your floating bait trailing behind. They were sold out of the heavy weights so the ones I bought are too light for this application.

Put a heavy shakey on bottom and a drop shot above, works like a charm.
