Tips on catching big cats?

Anyone have any tips for catching some big catfish around fort hood? Anywhere within 30 miles im willing to go really. Ive never caught a very big one, and i have a little jon boat now i can get out on small ponds and lakes. Thanks

Look up the lakes you have close to you on the TPWD. Look at stocking history and lake records. That will give you a decent idea of what lake has the most abundant population of mature Blue catfish. If the lakes have Blues in them. Just cause they don't show them on the sticking history doesn't mean the lake doesn't have a great population of them. Look at the lake records too.

go to lake waco and find where the river enters the lake. you will find them there now and maybe for a couple more weeks.
