I typically fish Copano and St Charles Bays and it's about time to get some new line and I figured it's about time I try something new. Any personal suggestions on favored test, brand, etc would help! Thanks

I'll be fishing for reds and specks and I've usually thrown live bait but next time I go down there i'm going to throw some top waters and other artificials. I've always been paranoid about breaking off on oyster reefs...do you use a leader with artificials?

I use mono on my casting reels for topwaters, rattle traps, spoons, and they are filled with 15# Ande backcountry.

Spinning reels get the majority of the jig head/plastic work and they are filled with 20# power pro braid, always tied directly to the jig.

Power pro all the way. I use 10# power pro with a 17 to 20# mono leader. I see a lot of people using 20 pound but to me the 10 casts so much smoother and further, but that's just my opinion.

I agree. That lighter #line definitely has its benefits. I usually use a leader just to be safe
