Well boys it's that time of year already. The redfish are up skinny, doing their thing, and last week some buddies and I were able to find some that would cooperate. Small seaducers were the order of the day.

Yes, they were in water that shallow ^

For a detailed story of the trip, drop by the blog smile

It was! I didn't expect the fish to be up that shallow but it's been so warm lately that they were up there scrounging around.

I love this time of year. I am in the panhandle of Florida and launched my paddle board in 28 degrees the other day. Before the sun even was cresting the horizon I had three shots at fish with their backs out of the water. Too bad I had a warm water line on there that would not cooperate and junk casted them but caught a few after the water warmed. This is the time of year that the water is clear and those reds will eat!!! Nice work fellas.....the blog loos good..

They land super soft, are easy to tie, and just catch fish. The small grass shrimp become a favored forage of the reds that are up skinny right now.

10-4 Salt396. The #6 SeaDucers in my box trump all the larger versions in thin digs. They cast like a dream and land like a butterfly.

I'm moving down your way in July since the wife got reassigned to Eglin. I'd really like to meet up with some folks that go after the salty fish. Do you mind if I save your number to call when we get down that way? I'm currently talking the wife into a boat. We will see how that plays out though.

MHawk82-- I'm no expert but fished both sides of Okaloosa Is, Destin pass, and the ICW going west. Was there in Feb. and the weather was crappy. You should have better action in July.

Choct. Bay for specks and reds and lots of opps off the beaches when the surfs gentle. Clousers and deceivers will hook anything that swims.

A boat or kayak will be handy. Feel free to call. Tightlines
