We own the Lake Whitney Views paper and are getting reports of the lake record for Blue Cat being broken. Story has it a 92 lb Blue was caught on rod and reel. If anyone has any info on this please contact me on my cell at 817-822-5539 Thanks. Randy.

So far its checking out. The guy that caught it took by and showed his friend, the princible or V P at the middle school and a friend of mine grand daughter saw it. Was 90 plus pounds and he had a 28 also. Did get it certified. To be continued! :-)

Workn on it parttime, workin on it. It has been confirmed. 93 lb Blue caught at Lake Whitney on rod and reel and certified at the State Park. Should have pics today but will have to get permission to publish. I do know the young man that caught it graduated from Whitney High. Stay tuned for more to come. ;-)

OK for the real deal! Finally tracked down the gentleman that caught it and found out it was actually Lake Aquilla not Whitney where he caught the 93.1 pound Blue Cat. It was caught at night on Rod and Reel using a whole fresh caught gizzard shad. He said when he hooked it his drag was too tight and it pulled him past knee deep water until he could loosen his drag and back up, it took him over 1 hour and 20 minutes to land the fish, he was using 15LB test line. He caught other fish including a 20 plus pound Blue and has caught several over 30 in the past. The fish was certified and is being submitted for the Aquilla Lake Record, there had been no lake record for rod and reel Blue Cat catch until now so he actually caught and broke the lake record several times prior to submitting this monster catch!See the complete article and more pictures in the March issue of the Lake Whitney Views.
