Take a look at this. I was doing my normal walk around of the boat. I noticed one of the tires was kinda low. While I was down there checking the pressure, I noticed fluid on the inside of the wheel. I crawled underneath and can see where I have been slinging fluid. Take a look at the pic. Is it a blown hub seal in your opinion? I have a trip planned in the morning, but dont want to drive on it if it isnt safe. Thanks in advance

What type of hubs? Could be blow by if recently added grease

Its Ranger Cool hubs on a 2004 Ranger Trail trailer and no grease recently added

yea you are screwed. Oil bath hubs are POS. I switched to bearing buddies. Be careful... once that oil leaks out it will heat up and you can loose a wheel before you know it.

yea you are screwed. Oil bath hubs are POS. I switched to bearing buddies. Be careful... once that oil leaks out it will heat up and you can loose a wheel before you know it. Thats what I was thinking too. Thanks for the info

Ranger 04-06 oil bath hubs and trailer axles SUCK!!!! My tourny partner has an 06 ranger and after his 4th hub we swapped them all to grease. I wouldn't pull it till its fixed
I can backlash toilet paper.

Mine went out on a very hot day on Lake fork with Jay Kendrick. 12 hours later I was on the way home.

Mine went out on a very hot day on Lake fork with Jay Kendrick. 12 hours later I was on the way home. that was the moment I realized that I am an absolute curse to any boat I get in.

Fill up the hub and check it a couple of times on the way. Take some extra oil with ya and leave a little earlier.

If I had a tandem axle trailer like I use to on my other boats, I would more than likely do this. But with a single axle and the history of these Cool Hub issues and stories of folks wheels falling off going down the highway, I dont think Im going to risk it. I appreciate the advice though. Thank you for your help
