Here's a video I had not seen before which shows pretty good footage of the ole' jig and bobber in action. You might need to copy and paste into your browser. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIBHYiL1u2k

Thanks for sharing. I'm trying to start chasing crappie. When does this pattern work in north TX?

I can't tell what they're using for bait. Are they just using a jig/plastic below the bobber? Does this work in the shallows this time of year in N. Tex? Great video...

This presentation will work anytime the crappie are shallow...they are using jigs. You can use any type of jigs you prefer...dial in on a color and go for it...
Depending on what lake you are on and the weather pattern...this type of crappie action will begin in a few weeks or so...if you have never fished this manner, i strongly suggest it...it is a ton of fun...once you find this action...take some kids fishing, they will always remember it!!!!

It's difficult to make this out on my iPhone. Are they just putting a jig below a bobber about 2' and giving it a slight pop every now and again?

lwreckalot... That is exactly what they are doing. I use this same technique fishing in the creeks. You adjust the depth of the cork depending on the depth of the fish.
