+1 on killing these, beautiful, big fish. Lot of skill required to catch one that way. Lol. That fish is gonna die. If he,really, wanted others to have a better chance,at a big fish,he wouldn't be using live bait and killing that fish and all her offspring, forever.

FZ1, are you saying we should out law all Bass Tournaments? How many bass die every year from fishing tournaments? Is this why we don't have more over 13 pounds?

UMMMM, Most of them don't die and are released right back into Fork........... Or whatever lake they are caught out of.

What is alot worse on that fish is the Fact she had to wait untill SAL got there to be Fizzed. Every minute that she stayed stressed from no being fizzed decreased her chances of surviving ANYWHERE. She should have been fizzed immediately.

That fish had the same genetics when it weighed 1/2 pound. All fish need to be taken care of.

Congrats to the lucky angler. That's a great fish in my book regardless of how it was caught.

Too much holier-than-thou rhetoric BS on this thread. If you don't like live bait, don't use it. Pretty simple. Every post on here gets muddied up with "expert opinions".

I'm happy for the gentleman and wish him the very best in his retirement!

No,too many guys enjoy tournaments, and there are businesses that need the tournament business. I would suggest going from 5 fish to 3 fish tournaments to save some fish. Some tournaments have already done this, and hats off to them. Raise the slot on Fork to 29" so that the big fish have a chance to grow to state record size.

Ah... So wasting the resource is allowable if doing what "I" like to do. The economics argument does not hold water either.

Scott Martin is taking his two girls shiner fishing at Okeechobee on PRST channel as I type. Better lecture him next time one of you T men ask for his autograph.

And I know who "Jeff" is.

What are you talking about my "wasting a resource"? Just so you know,Scott Martin asks for FZ1 autographs not the other way around.

Then it's ok too kill bass in tournaments?

I bet tournament fisherman kill way more than live bait fisherman.
