Full Story on 16.04 Lake Fork catch today 02/02/2013. Richard Scibek changed his hobby from cattle & horses to fishing in 1996 after a heart attack. He is an avid, competitive fun & tournament fisherman w/ a Skeeter/Yamaha setup. Richard just retired from position of Locomotive Engineer with Union Pacific Railroad in March of 2012 after 45 years service. He was fishing with long time friend & co-worker on his favorite lake when lightening struck. His last best was a 10.8 just fishing for fun & good day on lake with wife, Kay. Simple God given moment today. I also kmow he personally wishes everyone good fishing & would be real proud if you also caught a Lake Fork Hawg. --- Best wishes, the wife, Kay He's going to need a new room with enough wall space for that hawg (replica) and a shrine to it beneath. Sticky mats of course.

like the man says...if you're swimming in the ocean and get bitten by a shark, its not a shark attack. You're in THEIR neighborhood. If you're at home in your shower, turn around and a shark is in there with you...THAT'S a shark attack

"Quisenberry caught the fish in 10 feet of water while fishing with a waterdog. The fish was 23.25 inches in girth and 25.25 inches long."

Congrats to the angler and thanks to the TPWD for providing us with the dilemma of what should be done with a 16 lber.

doubt i\this will ever be a concern of mine, but if i ever catch a sal, i will turn it in, i have my reasons, and i will not type a word about who what when where or why on here. because of the way this always goes on here. truth is most of us on here, probably myself included, wouldn't have the skill, patience, or whatever you want to call it to get that fish in the boat if we did hook it, no matter the choice of presentation. i would definitely freak out and probably screw something up. i don't use live bait for bass, but have no problem with a recreational angler who chooses to. no matter what anybody thinks not many people have ever caught one like that, so major congrats to the lucky angler.

Nice fish and I bet anyone on this thread would like to have caught her on live bait or lure.

It's a pig. Regardless of how it was caught or where it went, I'm just happy to see fork is still putting them out. Viva la muerto lago!!!

i always thought using live bait at fork would get one tar and feathered or beat up? Least back in the 90s it would, have things changed there? I'd put my money on a live bait fisherman over a blow hard purist in a fight. TP&W already dealt with the live bait debate on Fork and Ray Roberts 20 years ago when the tournament crowd pressured them to ban live bait on those lakes. The study showed a C-Rigged plastic kills more fish. Congrats to the angler.
And I know who "Jeff" is.
