Went out from 2:15 to 5:15 PM today and caught 72: 60 whites, 9 keeper yellow bass, 1 cat and 2 legal hybrids. Details: Just got out to Saint Annes Point when Snaggin Steve cruised up. Said it had been a slow day and was ready to catch anything - such as white bass. He saw yesterday's post about East Hump, so I offered to take him there and away we went. Just like yesterday it was covered with mostly big whites. We fished along side for most of an hour catching fish steadily. Then his wife called and wanted to get out on lake and see today's sunset. I wanted to try some other spots , so we left going in different directions. I caught 43 fish before I left. Next looked at Pitts Point but not much. Then tried Greenhouse Ridge and was just starting to catch some when the Greek Angler shows up. We both were catching fish there, but most were in the 10 to 11 inch range. I moved on after reaching 50 whites, and went to Dam Ridge. Fish in previous spots were at 24 fow but at Dam Ridge they were in 18 fow. They were more finicky at the shallower depth requiring me to slow down the retrieve and bite was extremely light. Caught another 10 whites, some yellow bass and the 2 hybrids there before heading home. Caught all fish on silver #4 Mepps working slowly down on the bottom. Here is 18.5 inch hybrid caught today: 20 inch hybrid caught today:

I noticed Snaggin Steve was on the lake for a long time yesterday and figured he must have been on Hybrids, Sandies are usually a fall back fish for him.
Yesterday was a bit frustrating for me. It's been over 3 months since my last day of fishing on CC. I took my boat to Cabelas to have the outboard repaired, by the time they had it ready the lake level was down and there wasn't enough water under my dock to put the boat back on the lift. So I kept it in McKinney until Friday when I took the day off and headed with boat in tow back to the lake. There is just enough water in my outer slip to get the boat back on the lift. Friday afternoon we launched the boat and I headed out of the cove just onto the main lake and the boat seemed to be running fine. So I gave it more throttle and the engine bogged down and cut off. Dang it Cabelas. So I managed to trolling motor back to the house and spent therest of the day and Saturday spectating from the porch.
Taking the boat back to Cabelas on Monday to give em another whack at it (not sure why). But hope to get back on the water in the next week or so. Leave a few fish in the lake for me.

Great report Dennis!! Al I have heard several things about Cabela's boat shop....none of them have been good. Good luck on your repair.

wow Al, that sucks. FWIW, I have had good results with Texas Hydrosports on the east side of CC. But this is the beginning of their very busy season, so the turnaround may be longer. When I had that same problem with bogging it was fuel line clogged from the ethanol [censored] gasoline. Now I have an in-line gas filter and I add stuff to the gas to help improve the gas.

I know John at hydro sports and he has always done a good job for me. I took the boat to cabelas because they are a Ranger dealer and servicer and there were several items (quality related) on the boat that needed to be addressed (don't get me started on that, I could write for days on my disappointment with Ranger quality, or lack thereof). I may have to stop by Flippin Arkansas on my next trip to the white river and let them know about it.
I figured they (cabelas) should have an opportunity to correct this. If this doesn't work,
My next message may be entitled Crapelas.

If it is a Mercury or a Yamaha take it to the Boat Center in Flint, call ahead and talk to Brian. They have fixed several issues for me and several other TFFers.

It is about a 60 mile tow for me but the service is better than you can get here at Cedar Creek.
