I have been doing very good on Ray Hubbard catching Hybrids the last few week but I guess today was the day for pay back!
The wife and I got out on the water about 9am and found some good fish not long after that. The graph showed good fish and we dropped Slabs down to them and it didnt take long for me to hook into a very nice Hybrid. I had fogot to bring the net and played him down to swing him into the boat. Just as I lifted the hybrid out of the water he didnt want to play nice and went nut's again throwing the hook. With alot of tension on the rod the slab acted like it was shot out of a cannon and went up and over my head and look what happened.

It was stuck all the way into the back of my head to were the three barbes come togeather. I had just put new hooks on a few slab last night because they had hooks broke off, now this lazer Sharp hook was in the back of my head. Off to the Emergency Room we went. The doctor couldnt get it out without cutting it out. OUCH I guess thats one that got away and with a $130.00 doctor bill. As I was leaving the emergency room the doctor said you will need to go the RX and pick up a Prescription and I told him it would need to be later I was going back FISHING. We got back on the water about 12.30 and had a great time and I even caught a big Hybrid before we had to go. So I guess it wasnt that bad of a day after all. Good seeing Herb,Jeff and Roy out today.
Pat

I opted to go the Boat Show in Arlington. Lots of pretty boats, no blood.

Be careful cowboy, when we bring fish out of the water and grab the line from the top instead of using the net, when a fish pulls loose all hooks go into your hand and or thumbs, really messes up a good start to a good day. Good report glad u stayed with it and got back on the lake. Those hybrids are tough to deal with.

Daaaaaum. My Dad had a #4 treble that shot out of a SB and went up his nostril. No hooks broke skin. You couldn't have put it there by hand.

It quit hurtin after it quit hurtin. Glad you're alright.

Wow that looks like it really hurt. Not sure if I would make it back on the water for a while. You must have been catching some nice fish to want to get back out so fast.

Pat I hate to say this but, that is an awesome picture. I know it hurt like hell and I am glad everything worked out well for you. I hope I never have to post a pic like that. That Hybrid might be one I would keep and eat!!
