I'm also right in your area SDhookem, i live just down the road. I've had a little luck at Tennyson and coit, never had any problems and i've seen a few people fishing around there.
My best spot so far has been Bethany Lakes in Allen - about 30 minutes away.
I am thinking of trying some of the frisco ponds i have seen on google maps.
Speaking of the 3040 ponds, thats Round grove right? by the apartments/ dump ?

That is correct Zedteamk2. I'll try driving by the pond you mentioned and see if it's legal to fish. Thanks for the suggestion.

Not sure why I didn't think of this sooner but I think tomorrow I will contact the Dept of Parks and Recreation for my city and see if they can provide me some info.

sorry gunner, I can't help you with that. I'm still trying to find a place to wet a line without getting in trouble with the law....lol. But once I find em, I'll share.

The 3040 ponds are privately owned. Police will ask you to leave if you are caught there.

Thanks Kolton. Seems like just about every piece of water in north texas is private property. If it's not a lake good luck. I guess that's what I get for leaving the southern California coast where water was open to all.

I use to live at those apts. and fished it all the time. I never saw the police dept out there. Theres a boat ramp (small one) where a guy would unload his small boat and hammered the LMB all day. Those waters hold alot of good size fish and there is public access by the truck load if you look at it right..

Well I finally got some decent news. Spoke with a rep at dept of parks and rec and verified a certain strip of water was in fact public property. So I'm OK to fish. Not so good news is there is no parking next to it. guess I'll be hoofing it for a bit but hey that's cool. Beats driving across town!

hey have you ever tried fishing the creek that runs all thru plano ? Its by the Chisolm trail . I fish it on my lunch hour have caught tons of sunfish and last week caught a 19 inch bass. one day I want to put on waders and just walk from end to end . it goes thru several parks .I think its called Spring Creek.

I have not fished that creek. I looked up the trail name and I think I see the creek you are talking about. Looks like it's in east Plano. Will have to check it out.

I live up the colony area and have fished alot of ponds in the colony frisco north plano area. If you want some info feel free to pm me. But my personal experiences so far is these ponds hold lots of fish but smaller fish w/ the execption of a few select. I catch much bigger by driving down into irving/las colinas. All i do is bass catch and release. As long as there are no signs posted i fish it but if i see any signs im out.Hope that helps

Thanks ChadMac. I'm going to spend a bit more time trying to find some spots on my own but I may take you up on that offer later.

This is where I want to fish! N 33 13' 16.8562" W 96 45' 0.8652". I have been looking at this spot for 8 years. I stoped and talked to one guy once. And he said no. That was the short story of the conversation....

Did you see the size of that chicken?!.
