 Need help networking my units

I bought a new Lowrance elite 7 and installed it at the console. I want to link it to my Lowrance HDS 5X to share way points. I bought a Nmea 2K starter kit for this. Is this all I need to link these two together? Can anyone walk me thur this step by step. Thanks. The HDS 5X is up front on the TM.
