Went out there (2499) Wednesday and caught a skunk. Then again, it was windy as all get out and it was impossible to cast without having my jig blow straight back into my face. Could see shad jumping occasionally and the random top-water strike, so there are fish in the creek... I just don't know if it's crappie or sandies since I couldn't catch them. haha

I would like to take my kayak up around Pilot Knoll Park for some sand bass run fishing. Where is the best place to put in and typically when do they show up in numbers? I have never done this type of fishing before.

Anybody fish Hickory Creek today? Last night's rain and today's warm weather should jump start the run.

A run of normal numbers is looking pretty bleak this year. Plus the water is way too muddy right now to catch anything.
