1st JD (Jeff) Lyle is a class act guy, JD, cant thank you enough for your patience, knowledge and persistence. Hopefully I have a new friend on lake Texoma and didn't wear out my welcome.

JD, had us on fish, NICE fish, I kid you not, within 5 minutes of launch! I was there with my neighbor to strictly learn winter time tactics and dead-sticking, We bait fish the Spring?Summer pretty good ,but no wintertime experience. limit and size where important, but wasn't the real concern.

We where throwing overs back probably within the 1st 8 minutes (2 at a time often). I wish we would have thought more about pictures, weights and measures, but that came with fleeting moments and we certainly missed some good shots. Being experienced, JD could elaborate more on that stuff. We where well into double digit fish easily, but again, hopefully JD will see the post and respond

He took us several places to get our "box fish", every place was stacked with fish (never thought unders, would be hard to find between overs) ((nice problem to have too))

One of the last spots (we where back in class again learning more location tactics) And guy's, God strike me down if this is a lie, he put us over a school that was at least several hundred yards wide and maybe a half mile long, I've fished the coast and have never seen a school this big, stacked almost top to bottom, most incredible thing I've ever seen! I almost think JD was surprised..Oh yeah we got our "Box Fish" grin

Here are a couple of photo's, wish we would have thought about that before "after the fact" photos, but in the heat of the moment we didn't even think about it much. Wish I would have got more dock/boat pictures too, darn nice comfortable BIG boat.

JD, your an awesome guy to chat with and I hope we where as good of "students" as you where the teacher. I think we may have changed the "Ditch pickle" catcher to the ""dark side"" grin He told me on the way home "I'm glad you picked Jeff, one of the nicest, most patient guy's I have met in Texas" He is sorry he lost those 2 lures grin grin

Thanks from me too, we will fish together again brother.

Congrats on a very successful trip. Look like some very good size striper you hooked up with. Jealous.

Jimmy I posted in your thread also, it was a kinda "breezy" , but normal for Texoma. I learned today from JD Lyle. patience, think " crappy" fishing LOL The bite is almost UN-noticable.

Good luck man!

Thanks western for the nice comments...yes it was a good day..lots of big fish and hard to find box fish..
Our biggest fish we weighed ,was 12 lbs and we weighed two others that were a little over 10 lbs.
Most of the others were 4-6 lbs and even the box fish we did get were all right around 18-19 inches

Compared to the day before the winds were calm as can be, if you can say that about 15 mph...

A every stop we made we had just huge schools of fish on the screen...some schools we got bites and some we didn't.
The bite as usual was super light and if your not ready you'll have been bit and not been know it...
Well not with western and his buddy Brian...on my first stop I drop the flukes down and begin my demonstration on what to do and. What to expect..half way thru my instructions I get a bite...so enough with instructions... I had both rod to the guys and honestly within 60 seconds they both had fish on at the same time...
All our biggest fish came in the first hour of the trip.(9:30-10:30)
Once that school scattered we headed off down me lake looking for more...like I said every stop we made held tons of fish.. The guys we amazed at the numbers of fish we were marking..some places they bit and some not.. I am not a patient person so after sitting on none biting fish for 15 mins I'm off to the next spot.
We never got on the wild and crazy like the first stop again but we did pick at em for the rest of the day..
Like I always am we we bad about taking pics but at least western took the blame for that smile
When I'm busy I just don't like stoping for pics ...oh well..

I know we came in two box fish short of a limit but released many more overs..

It was a good day western and I enjoyed fishing with you guys!! Don't forget top water in may/ June and slabs in July/August smile

Fishing this week has been very good except for Wednesday when we tried to fish and got lows off the water. After 30 mins...shoulda just not gone. Winds were horrible.
On the day I've been able to get out still deadsticking most days. A few days have found birds working but not consistent enough to rely on.
Fish have been hanging tight along Under water structure. Find ledges of creeks flowing into main lake and you will find fish!!

We went with JD a few years back, we all caught our limit within the hour and bac at the dock cleaning the fish, as we were leaving I spotted a two or three foot fish just swimming around in about 1 ft of water sparking me to point an say "woah look at this fish"! Ten or twelve people came ove and we were leaning over the guard rail and suddenly the bridge from the bank to the floating dock buckles and collapses throwing all but one of into the water... Luckily none of us were hurt and I will never forget that experience, oh yeah the fishin was good too...
