This may be a dumb question but here it is. When I am moving on the lake, I can clearly see structure and contour changes on the bottom. When I find something interesting to fish and I stop moving it seems that the structure image disappears and all I see is a wavy looking bottom which I assume is due to the surface wave action. My question is do you have to be moving to see structure? Also does anyone know of a good training class or tutorial to better learn to use my Elite 5 dsi? Thanks from a novice.

The issue is the downscan and side image all shoot a very narrow beam, so you need to be moving a bit for the best reading.
