I retired at age 50 and have too much time on my hands. My wife passed away and am wanting to go back to school. I would like to go to Marine School to learn to be a Marine Mechanic. Could anyone help me as to advise me where a good school to attend. Thank you for any help you can give me. I live in Kilgore Tx and just would love to learn all I can about marine engines.

I believe the primary Mercury school is in Florida. Quite a while back there was a place somewhere around Dallas. I only know because I told my mechanic once that I talked to a Mercury repair rep in Richardson. He said that when he was in school he raced the dude on lower unit rebuilds. You might try the Mercury website. Also the junior colleges.

boatman is correct , no more knowledgable guy than Duncan , he has taken all of the factory classes and stays on top of current designs and maintenence procedures, he has a vast librairy of service and repair manuals,he used to build all of kawasaki cities race jet skis and hes raced motorcycles at daytona, so hes no shade tree mechanic, the school has excellent equipment and if you live in Dallas county ,the tuition is really low , used to be ther were classes in powerhead, lower unit, electrical, and tune up , they may have added more since I took them
