I have 15 and 25lb Fluor. Which should I use for crank bait or does it matter?

If you are fishing heavy cover go with the larger line. If you are trying to get a crank bait to its max potential depth then you need the smaller, even 12 lb at times.

I threw 15 P-Line on a wake bait over grass this weekend and it worked great!

Honestly...I never was a big fan of this line but wanted a Mono to help keep the bait up...Found this in my garage the day before we left, spooled it up and was pleasantly surprised.

I throw 10-20lb fluorocarbon and mono, depending on depth and cover.

I like McCoys Mean Green, as it is much more positive for CBs. It is abrasion resistent, it does not have much memory and it streches some, letting the bigger fish stay hooked, unless you drag is too tight. I do not like fluoro lines for cranking. They feel dead to me. They have almost no stretch and very little abrasion resistence and TNOS of memory, so you have to replace it often. They also do not make the CB dive deeper, unless you consdier 2.5" on a long line cast to make a difference. To show you how good McCoys is, in early November last year I caught a 9.17 LMB at Falcon on a reel that had been spooled with McCoys for 4 or 5 years, 17#. THAT is how good that stuff is. I normally use 12-17# or 20# on lakes full of wood and rocks. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I use 12 or 15# Seguar InvisX. I used to use Big Game for all my cranking but I do seem to gain a little depth with the fluoro and I like the sensitivity. I go with a softer action rod unless I'm ripping it out of the grass.

I'm with Mr. Rains on this one. I've been using some for about a month now and I'm very impressed. I usually use Big Game for treble hooked baits.
The only other Co-Poly I have ever used was YoZuri(Very strong but too much memory). McCoy has hardly any stretch, strong, and limp as all get out. I have it spooled on my Trap and Crankbait rods. I'm going to try the clear next.

For deep cranking both are too heavy for me. The 15 would be OK for square bill
