Nice fish. My first boat was a 10' flat bottom with a trolling motor and no graph. I caught a lot of fish out of that rig back in the day. Nothing wrong with humble beginnings and staying in budget. The boat does everything I need it to for now. It's a little difficult on windy days. My is a 14ft flat bottom with a 8 hp mercury on it. I put some floors and seats on it for comfort. I might as well not even have a graph because I have yet to figure out how to read it.

Nice fish! No problem with the boat. My first one was a narrow 12" metal boat that was prone to roll over during hook sets. My oar was the TM and depth finder.

Looks like a fun day. Makes me want to take a day off.

During that wind/rain storm that came though in april 11, I was out one day and was heading back when fork was getting up. I run up on a fella in a boat about like yours, and I thought wow. I don't want to be out in this in my boat, this guy is crazy or has balls(or both). I didn't even see him till about 50 yards out. Nice fish by the way.

Caught a ton of fish in my little 14ft flat bottom, had a 9.9hp ice chest and Walmart pump for livewell. Won some money out of the little boat, actually won more in it than I paid for it. Nice fish and there is nothing wrong with making due with what you can afford.

The first boat I owned was a 14 ft V-bottom aluminum. It had a homemade attempt at a green, brown, and black camo paint job. I had a 5 hp Eska motor on it. There was no external gas tank, I just poured fuel in the motor. For a few months my trolling motor was a paddle.
My ex-wife called it the Sanford and Son boat.
I put plenty of fish in that boat on Nacogdoches, Pinkston, the Kingtown area of Rayburn, Caddo, etc.
