salt striker reels
okuma avenger reel
Quantum optix reel
pro angler rods
catfish ugly stick rod
academy yellow rod cheap but battle tested, not sure if they have a spinning version

If I were buying them I'd go with the salt striker 50 or 65 size with a pro angler rod, but there are cheaper options that have been battle tested here and will work!

Cheap but decent is Qauntum Optix 60's for $24.99 at Academy on 8' Shimano MH rods - FXS-80MHB-2 for $14.99 at Academy spooled with 25 lb Big Game mono or 60 lb Texas Tough Braid.

This + This + This = Not Half Bad on The Cheap thumb
