Before I have to take into a shop, maybe someone can steer me in the right direction. I have an 04 Champion w/ 04 225 Opti that I bought maybe 6 months ago. Immediately took it in for new impeller, lube change, etc and took it out today for the 3rd time since and had a 4 chime alarm go off every 5 minutes or so. Good pee stream, oil is good in compartment and reservoir in motor, but noticed no psi on water gauge. I drained the fuel/water seperator with maybe an 1/8th in of fuel in it when I got home. I'm not a mechanic by any means, just went through the book. Any other ideas for a cause? Thanks for the help and sorry for the long post.

Sounds like the float in the onboard oil tank sticking. Will need a new tank. Unplug the sensor and put a jumper wire across the engine harness. I use a paper clip. If the alarm quits then you need a tank. The computer has to recieve a signal or return voltage.

If it uses a plastic drive gear on the oil pump like my 200 Mariner Super Mag. It could be giving up. Mine gave me a couple of warnings like that before it totally stripped. It's not easy to determine, I did all the test before pulling the oil pump and drive gear and found shreaded plastic. There is a fix, if interested I' ll tell you a about it.

take it to a shop an have them hook the computer to it that would be much better than having the motor go down it should show codes to why your getting horns.
