Could you please tell me how the lake level and ramp are right now at Crane's Mill Park on Canyon?

Needing to go there Monday and haven't been there in forever.

Thanks

That ramp is #10 on the map and according to this web site the park is closed until April 1st.

I would just launch at Potters creek just to be on the safe side and avoid having to turn around.

The way they have it set up, boaters will have access to the ramp, for a fee, even when the park proper is closed. (It's now for the exclusive use of campers, in any event.) The ramp, however, is currently closed. I believe this is due to the low level of the lake.

Comal will be closed until April. The ramp on the west side of the Tom Creek arm is very good. No courtesy dock, however. Potter's Creek would be the closest free ramp to Crane's Mill, but the dock there is closed, and no good place to run up on the bank. The ramp at Crane's Mill Marina might be open. Seems like they charge $10 to launch and park.

Ok, here's the deal on Crane's Mill. It's open all year for campers. Lake levels permitting, the boat ramp will also be open for day use all year. They will not open the ramp until the lake rises another 3 ft. Right now, the floating dock is sitting on dry land. Day use boaters will have access to the new running water restrooms.

The public pier is now gated, and will be closed from dark to dawn. Too many problems with people trashing the area at night. No more portable potty, because someone threw it into the lake. A park attendant told me that litter has also become a problem at the boat ramp area, when open.

The crappie fishing was good yesterday at the pier, on minnows, in the late afternoon (or so I'm told.)

lots of drama unfolds on that pier after dark.
wish they would have upgraded the crane's mill ramp when the park was getting renovated for the past 2 years. its always the first one to close

You would think?...It's not like they had the excuse that the lake was up and they couldn't work on the ramp.
Redo everything else but the most important item gets left completely out of the plan, or lack there of. hammer

I was at Potters Creek RV campground Friday, and I could see through binoculars that the launch ramp that's about 1/3 mile SE of the Crane's Mill Marina was OPEN and there was quite a bit of action going on there(mostly recreational boat activity).

Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

FYI - the top of the walk ramp @ potters creek boat ramp is un-attached from the concrete bulkhead. It is just sitting there by it's own weight. I would be very careful walking on that thing right now.

used to be a bait shop maybe half mile before the park entrance on left. very friendly folks, always ready to share some patterns.
haven't stopped by in about a year, hopefully they are still open
