So today I thought it would be fun to paddle around downtown. We parked at the end of Taylor Street down in the park right next to the river. Parking is metered and limited to 2 hours. So we put in our payment for the two hours, unloaded the truck and went yaking. I was cautious to come back early to get my truck loaded up and out before the 2 hours were up. To my surprise I found a ticket on my window.... Well apparently it is against city ordinance to back into a normal parking spot that is metered. I asked where was this ordinance posted and the reply I received from the courthouse citation department was, "you can find it on our website" my response was, "you require all visitors to not only have internet access but also go online and read your ridiculous city laws" her response was, "you can also watch it on channel 27." I asked her how am I suppose to watch your channel when I am not from here and do not have a tv in my truck, not to mention how am I suppose to know that you have a channel with your laws. How crazy is this?! lol so word to the wise anyone parking in the park at the end of Taylor Street. Park nose-in.

So my question to yall is... Do you check the city ordinance laws for every city you travel to before going?!

They are just generating income and justfying a job. I'm sure a warning would have been just as effective.

Thats what I thought it should have been. To educate someone that it was a city ordinance. I can understand that if that same vehicle does it twice then sure give them a ticket. But to issue a ticket for something that is not posted ANYWHERE to be seen..... thats why I have a problem with it....

It was good other than the fact that the sump trucks where working on the sewer lines and it smelled really bad. Didnt fish much just scouting mostly.

If you have the time I'd go to court and fight that ticket. If that ordinance is not posted you should easily be able to beat that ticket. Just my

I agree go to court if you can, if you lose maybe at least you could feta a suggestion in to have ordnances concerning parking posted in the park.
