So I don't usually fish much this time of year, at least not for cats but this nice weather and an empty schedule has me itching to make a trip out to the Brazos. I've got a place I can reach by kayak that produced consistently during the summer and I'm just wondering if there's any chance I'll find fish there this time of year. It's a deeper hole (not sure how deep exactly, at least six feet though) surrounded by shallower water (~3 feet) both up and down stream. Sound like the place? If not what should I be looking for this time of year?
Hoping some of the experts on here can help me out. Thanks and Gig 'em!

Yah, wish there was some. Pretty shallow stretch of river, at least from my experience. Forgot to mention the spot is at the confluence of a smaller river/stream with the Brazos.

find areas on the river where the cormorants stack up in the trees along the shoreline. DOES NOT HAVE TO BE DEEP AT ALL!!!. The biguns will be there, guaranteed. Cut shad, live minnows, even the white fat off bacon will get em! We use bobbers, with the hook maybe 18 inches below the bobber, in water as shallow as 2ft.
The elm fork produces consistently all winter in areas described, don't see why the mighty brazos wouldn't!
Good luck

Well I've fished it my whole life and that's how it's always been for the winter pattern. But hey, what do I know? Lol
