If you will drive a bit, the Colorado river in Austin blows the Brazos out of the water. As far as the Brazos, I'd do the stretch below Whitney

Not the stretch in Austin. I've caught lots of big fish along with quantity every time on the Colorado. Brazos is hit or miss for me, mostly miss. Or maybe I'm just lucky

Current flow is 20 CFS out of PK.

You will be doing a lot of dragging.

Below Whitney it is 12 CFS. May not be a good time to try to float the Brazos.

I don't go too fast but I go pretty far.

We are doing an overnight trip with Shane Davies on the 22-23rd of Feb south of PK. I'm sure we will be dragging some, but there's plenty of water to paddle, too. We're going as much for the adventure as anything. I definitely don't want to spend 2 days paddling through Austin.

I went with Shane Davies on a one day trip on jan 29 . It was one of the coolest trips ever. You'll have to drag some but it's worth it. We caught fish all day on a day that never got out of the thirties. (Temps)it was worth the price of the trip to watch him throw his big ol net from the kayak

If you want to change it up and fish below Whitney send a PM to armadillomojo. Dude practically owns the fish below Whitney on the Brazos.

I was looking to try the Brazos up around the PK area too as soon as I get my kayak. Will be trying to scout out some areas to set in here pretty soon.
