I have been fishing 91st Pier in Galveston since the water turned cold. Its the same as surf fishing but my feet stay dry. I have been trying to find a pattern to winter fishing but nothing so far. Can anyone with knowledge tell me the relation of northers, strong north wind, lower than normal tides and fishing?
I heard to fish the day before a norther but usually the S & SE wind is so strong the surf is rough and muddy. That limits the chance to catch typical surf fish like whiting, croaker and sandies. 2nd or 3rd day after a norther hasn't been working either. Tides are usually still below normal, surf is near flat and the fish don't have an active bite.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
